Priv.-Doz. Dr. Daniela Pfeiffer (née Münzel) is an attending at the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and senior scientist at the Chair of Biomedical Physics of the Technical University of Munich. She is the Clinical Principle Investigator of the Research Group "Medical Imaging Research in Radiology". Dr. Pfeiffer completed medical school at the University of Regensburg and received the Medical Doctor (MD) for her studies on molecular effects in diabetes. She finished residency with the board certificating of Radiology at the Klinikum rechts der Isar at TUM, followed by a clinical fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology. Beside practicing and refining her excellent knowledge in clinical radiology in day-to-day patient care, Dr. Pfeiffer strongly engages in a number of research projects in Biomedical Imaging. Her main interests and most important scientific results lie in the field of photon counting CT technology, dual-energy and spectral CT applications, dark-field and phase contrast imaging, and machine learning in clinical applications. Dr. Pfeiffer is internationally well recognized and has strong collaborations with several highly-recognized institutions, such as the Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School (where she has been as a research fellow). Dr. Pfeiffer has earned a masters degree in Business Health Administration, and she is also the head of quality management at the Department of Radiology, and a member of the subcommittee of audits and standards of the European Society of Radiology. With respect to teaching, she supervises Bachelor, Master and PhD students, and is engaged in several lectures as guest lecturer for special topics. Her research achievements have recently been awarded with the prestigious Röntgen-Prize of the University of Gießen.
